26 weeks!

At 24 weeks I went back for another ultrasound.  On the previous ultrasound his head was tucked in so they couldn't see his face and brain, so they needed to go back and get another look.  The sonographer said he looked great, still progressing perfectly!  His legs were measuring a week ahead and his stomach was a week behind, so it looks like he is going to be tall and skinny!  He is kicking a lot more lately, which is fun until he karate chops me right in the bladder.
Here is his ultrasound picture for the week.

And the bump picture for the week...

My patients at work are just now starting to notice that I am showing, which makes for funny conversations at times.  I have this really sweet lady who is in her 80's and she was talking away and in mid sentence she asks, "Are you pregnant?"  And I said I was.  And she replied, " Oh good, I thought to myself, I hope that girl didn't go get herself fat!!".  Haha!  I can't wait until I am 80 and can say whatever I want and it always be cute!  Another patient brought be a baby present--it is a shirt that has bedazzled rhinestone letters and says "Thanks Mom for the womb and board!".  It is cute.  Ryan just got home from a 3 week trip to Australia, so now that he is back the nursery decorating will begin, woo hoo.

Camping trip

Over the weekend we went to Oklahoma to the Wichita Wildlife Refuge with my family.  It was great to get out of town for the weekend and see nature.  We were able to see many elk, buffalo, prairie dogs, deer and longhorns.  Too bad the Aggies lost and spoiled the weekend, haha.  Maybe next week.  Here are some pics from the weekend...

This is our ghetto TV set up so we could watch the Aggie game, haha

21 weeks...

Here are the bump pictures from this week.  It's getting a little bigger :)
The baby is the length of a banana this week.  On the ultrasound they estimated that he weighed around 12 ounces.

Clearly Reese is unimpressed by the Cowboys win today!

It's a....

The pre visit picture....will it be pink or blue??

It's a BOY!!!
The after picture...with the baby's first set of PJ's!!  Reese approved of her new brother!

Ultrasound picture of the baby's profile

We had a great doctor appt today.  The baby is a healthy, happy boy!  He looked great on the ultrasound and measured perfectly.  It is so fun to watch on the ultrasound as he moves his little hands and feet.  We also got to see a great view of the heart and all four ventricles pumping.  We are officially half way there, wahoo!!  Now it's time to start planning the nursery, anyone want to come help us paint???  I celebrated the exciting news by getting sick in a random church parking lot on the way home, nice.  And to top it off I had construction workers driving by honking as I am getting sick.  Good times.  This little boy better be really cute to make up for all that he is putting me through!  Just kidding :)
Here is a little shout of to my mom.  Every parent has the story they tell their kids about how bad they had it "back in the day".  Well, my mom always told us about the summer of 1980 when it was so hot and she was pregnant with my brother.  Well....I officially beat her!!  This week we passed the record of 1980 after having our 70th day of temps over 100 here in Dallas.  On Tuesday it was 107 degrees.  So, haha Mom, I WIN!!

19 weeks!

We have officially made it to 19 weeks, woo hoo!  Almost half way there.  Here are the still very small baby bump pics of the week...

The baby is the size of a mango this week!

And of course, Reese needed a picture too this week!

Another 9 days until we find out if we are having a boy or girl.  Can't wait!  The nausea still isn't getting better though..ugg :(  I have become a preggetarian, aka a pregnant vegetarian.  But not voluntarily.  Most meats make  me sick, so I have been carb loading, haha.  They say the baby can hear now, so hopefully during the Aggie game tonight the baby will get to hear the Aggie War Hymn.  Gotta get to em early, BTHO SMU!  Still haven't felt the baby kick yet either, so hopefully that will start in the next week.  My mom bought Ryan a baby name book, but all he has done so far is make fun of all the names.  I am afraid we are going to be in the car on the way to the hospital still trying to pick out a name.  Maybe we will get some inspiration when we find out the gender. Maybe next post I will have a real baby bump and exciting gender news :)

Beach trip...

This past weekend we spent a few days soaking up the sun in Panama City, Florida.  It was very nice to just relax on the beach for a while.  We went with my parents and Aunt Patty (to celebrate her 50th birthday!!!).  Here are some pics...
The view from the Condo Balcony

My new favorite place to eat...notice the sign at the bottom that says, "We fix skinny people".  Awesome.

I am now officially 17 weeks.  Sorry, no baby bump pic this week, but really it doesn't look too much different from my last pic.  I am waiting for at least a little baby bump so I will start getting some sympathy, haha.  I did have my first "pregnant brain" moment.  I thought that was just a pregnancy myth....but I now I believe in it.  When we were at the beach I was making queso in the microwave.  Ryan walked over and started yelling, there is a spoon in there!!  I had accidentally left the spoon in the bowl and put it in the microwave.  Luckily it didn't spark and catch the whole place on fire.  Ooops.  Blame it on the baby :)  It is nice to have a scapegoat for all of my dumb moments, hee hee.  3 more weeks until we find out the sex of the baby.  Still no ideas on names yet...we are open to suggestions :)
